N. Dighton, MA – [August 25, 2025] – Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School (DRRHS) is proud to announce that it has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top high schools in the nation, ranking #3,494 out of nearly 25,000 public high schools. This places DRRHS in the top 15% of high schools nationwide, and 120th within Massachusetts—a remarkable achievement that reflects the commitment and excellence of students, staff, families, and the entire school community.
Superintendent Bill Runey emphasized the broader meaning of the ranking, noting, “This national recognition is a reflection of the incredible opportunities available to our students at Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School. From rigorous academics and Career and Technical Education programs to championship athletics, award-winning arts, nationally recognized theatre, and inclusionary activities, DRRHS is a place where every student can thrive. Being ranked among the top 15% of high schools nationwide validates the hard work of our staff and students, and it reinforces our district’s vision to Empower, Ignite, and Shape. Together... We Are DR.”
U.S. News & World Report evaluates schools using a comprehensive, data-driven approach. Rankings are based on six key measures of school quality: College Readiness, College Curriculum Breadth, State Assessment Proficiency, State Assessment Performance, Graduation Rate, and Performance Among Underserved Students. Principal Dustin Demers explained how these strengths come to life daily: “What makes DRRHS truly special is the balance we strike between academic rigor and the wide range of experiences we offer our students. Our CTE programs give students real-world skills, our athletic teams compete at championship levels, our Theatre Company has earned national recognition, and our arts programs put students in the spotlight across the state. Just as importantly, our commitment to inclusivity through Best Buddies, Unified Athletics, and Special Olympics ensures that every student is valued.
Rankings like this highlight the outstanding work that happens here every day. There is something for everyone at DRRHS.” Demers added, “I would be remiss if I did not celebrate all of our tremendous faculty and staff who make this achievement possible with the great work they do every day. They embody the #WeAreDR spirit.”
Highlights that set DRRHS apart include:
Career & Technical Education (CTE) Programs: Pathways such as Engineering, Automotive Technology, Marketing, and Early Childhood Education provide hands-on learning.
Championship-Level Athletics: Falcon athletes compete with pride and success, earning league and state titles.
Nationally Recognized Theatre Company: DRRHS theatre students earn acclaim across New England, showcasing creativity and collaboration.
Inclusionary Programs: Best Buddies, Unified Athletics, and Special Olympics ensure every student has a place to belong and excel.
Visual & Performing Arts: From music ensembles achieving state-level recognition to award-winning visual artists, students thrive in creative expression.
