What is Study Island?

Study Island is a web-based program designed specifically to help students master the content specified in the Massachusetts Curriculum Framework. Students simply logon to www.studyisland.com to access the program.

	The program is organized into topics covering all of the standards outlined in the Massachusetts Curriculum Framework that are tested on the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) test in grades 2 through 8.
	The academic material is organized in topics which contain a lesson and assessment questions with detailed explanations that provide automated insturction.
	Students can choose between traditional tests or interactive games as their learning method.
	For each subject (math, language arts, science, and social science), the students must take a pre-test, complete all content groups covering all the Massachusetts standards, and pass a post-test in order to complete the program.
	Teachers have access to a private page where they can view usage statistics and results for each student, a group of students, and the school as a whole. In addition, teachers can compare their students' performance against other students in Massachusetts.
