Career & Technical Education
Your pathway to Options & Opportunities.
Students entering D-R as freshmen have an opportunity to begin their educational journey with an exciting career exploration experience. Students participate in programs leading to careers in Automotive, Drafting/Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing, Education, and the Marketing and Business worlds. As sophomores, students become full-time CTE students with access to all of the academic courses necessary to meet their individualized goals. Each program has a set of course requirements. Please refer to the program grids. There is an integration of academic and career training emphasizing reading, writing, science and math skills. Math is a large part of most program areas.
Entry level career successes are equal to the skills needed for college entrance.
All CTE programs at D-R develop career and post secondary pathways. When career & technical education is a part of a student’s educational plan, they can benefit from the 2 + 2 + 2 tech prep program offered through Bristol Community College. During their junior and senior years, students can take advantage of up to 5 college courses free of charge. They are then able to transfer this articulated coursework to Bristol Community College to continue for 2 years and then to a four year institution for the final 2 years.
CTE at D-R…
A place of preparation for further education and highly paid, entry level employment.
